Hello, my name is Marissa and I am a fourth year biology major. I first started my research experience at Thompson Rivers University working with Dr. Ann Cheeptham and Dr. Heidi Huttunen-Hennely for my directed studies class (BIOL 4480). I then received an NSERC research grant to conduct research this past summer. My current research project is looking at the effects of phage therapy on antibiotic resistant bacteria in hospital sewage water. I think that TRU students are very fortunate to be surrounded by so much ground breaking research and for me, it has been a great opportunity to get involved.
