Hi my name is Gabrielle and I am majoring in Mathematics and minoring in Computer Science. I first started research at the end of my second year at the Royal Inland Hospital studying risk factors for bloodstream infections in patients with kidney diseases. My current research started as a directed study in genome-wide association studies in bread wheat studying resistances to fusarium head blight with Dr. Lingling Jin in the Computer Science Department, this has since been continued with both an UREAP and NSERC-USRA. The research projects I have been involved in have been eye-opening and I encourage anyone interested in research to talk to their professors. You never know where you could end up!
